MEET THE MAKER
Christopher Bonham is an Australian guitar maker based in Goulburn, New South Wales, where each Bonham instrument is built by hand using traditional woodworking methods and carefully selected reclaimed timbers.
Chris trained in fine woodworking at the renowned Sturt School for Wood in Mittagong before completing a trade qualification in French Polishing at Lidcombe TAFE in Sydney. After many years restoring antiques and building commissioned furniture, he turned his focus to electric guitars — bringing together traditional craftsmanship, vintage-inspired design and hand-wound pickups.
Many Bonham guitars are built from historic timbers sourced from old Australian buildings, workshops and antique pianos, giving each instrument a story that continues through the music it makes.
Chris also hand-winds his pickups in-house, carefully voicing them to deliver the expressive response and dynamic range associated with the finest vintage instruments.
Every Bonham guitar is made slowly, by hand, with the aim of creating instruments that feel alive in the hands of the player.
Timeless Timber — Timeless Sound.
